Active X Data Log Plus Issue

    Shawn,

I heard back from Rockwell. They think it is a bug in the software. Their eng team is looking into it. I am going to try a few things on my own to see if I can put a band aid on it.I will get you updated.

Yes, I tried saving as a string. That did not work. It gave me a bad result

    Thanks

    Bill

    Good afternoon @Arvind,

Very glad you got it working! Thanks for letting us know how you fixed it :-D

Oh, and you're not the first to make a typo in that field - I know I've done it myself ;-)

Thanks also for your comments - I think in the coming weeks I'll make a video on this topic as it seems to keep coming back up!

How to store th .csv file in a memory card of the HMI not the local path of the pc

    Hello,

Thank you so much for such a detailed explanation of the task. I really appreciate that. The only question is that I want to save the .csv file at the memorycard of the panel not at the local path of the computer as you did in your Tutorial. Where should I choose in this condition?
    Thank you in advance

    Good afternoon @maedeh,

The path depends on the model of PVPlus you have - you can exit to the desktop of your PVP, and then navigate to the memory card in Fil Explorer to see the path, or check out this article I wrote:

    Good morning @BB8R2D2,

Thanks for reaching out, and for your comments!

Over the years Data Store Plus has changed quite a bit, but I've always found the best option to get a copy of the CSV files was to leave them on the PanelView Plus itself (so it's all always there for anyone to get) and use a script on the USB stick to copy those files to the USB stick, which can be done while everything is running.

While you could log to the USB drive itself, some versions of Data Store Plus require you to shut your project down first before removing the drive, and if this is not done no more data will be logged until the project is restarted.

A basic Text.Bat script would just issue a command to copy the files from the PVPlus to the USB drive:

    ----

REM Step 1 - change to the directory where you are storing the CSV files - on the PVPlus 6 and 7 you can exit ViewME and use file manager to find where your CSV files are

    CD\YOUR-CSV-FOLDER-PATH

REM Step 2 - Copy all your CSV files to the USB storage device

    COPY *.csv “\usb storage”

    ---

As to how many files will fit on your USB memory stick, you should be able to calculate that by dividing the size of your drive by the size of your typical CSV file.

    Hope this helps,
